I know everyone and their mama is talking about the Oscars today, and I truly intended to stay away from the subject.
But Cate Blanchett’s dress, y’all.
I think I found a new color palette to love.

Any shade of purple is my favorite color ever. And yellow is clearly my new second-favorite color. I love the way these colors paired together are ultra-feminine yet bright and fun. And what says spring more than two kinds of flowers?
- Jess LC Astor Link and Bead Necklace
- Target Mossimo Odelina Flats
- Tarte Lock & Roll in Amethyst
- OPI Do You Lilac It?
- Dress from Ann Taylor Loft

What are your thoughts? Yay or nay on the palette? The dress? (And while we’re at it, what was your favorite dress?)
P.S. Why, yes I’m obsessed with Jess LC, thanks for asking. I tried to find a non-Jess LC necklace to include, really I did. But everything else I found was pretty to look at but not my style. Clearly, her designs speak to me. (Well, figuratively. At least I think. Although maybe the voices I’ve been hearing lately have been coming from my necklace . . . )
P.P.S. I actually already own the Tarte and OPI and love them both!
Ok people. I’ve still got some good ole Christmas cash burning a hole in my pocket, and I can’t decide what to spend it on. So YOU get to spend it. (And no, you don’t get to keep it. Muahahahaha. I just took all the fun out of it, didn’t I?)
I would have shown you pictures of the options, but this is how I feel right now:

Print, Bedding
So you get a handy-dandy list instead.
- Pillows. My current pillows have lost their fluffiness over the years, and my head requests some new ones.
- Running shoes. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing the Couch to 5K program, but my shins request new shoes before I do so.
- Wacom Tablet. My little designer brain says this would make my life a little easier (and a lot more fun!).
- Jess LC Division Chevron Rectangle Necklace. Because it’s just pretty. And my gold Be Brave necklace needs a silver partner in crime.
Truth be told, I’ll probably buy each of these things at some point in the next several months. So it’s really more of a question of which to buy first.
Ready, set, go.

People, I’m having a fashion emergency over here.
It happens every year in those few weeks between naked-is-still-too-much-clothing and twenty-layers-FTW. I think they call it spring and fall.
You see, spring and fall are blink-and-you’ll-miss-it events around here. And just as I find the perfect balance between warm enough for the mornings and cool enough for the afternoons, they’re gone.
So now, with nothing but spring weather in the forecast, I’ve decided to do a little self-medicating with the help of my trusty daily style blog reads (gotta love the archives). Just pretend this is coming from a real doc, ok?
