We’ve reached the end! Can you believe October is already over? Here are a few glimpses of Eastern Europe to finish our little trip across Europe.
I hope you have enjoyed this series as much as I have. Thanks for all your comments — it was so fun reading them!

I went to Greece four years ago on a two-week study abroad session with my college. Starting in Athens, we toured the Peloponnesian peninsula and also visited a couple lesser-known islands. Pictured above is the Parthenon; a monastery built into a mountain just outside the small town of Dmitsana; the monastery on top of Mt. Likavitos, overlooking Athens; the island of Hydra (there are no cars — only donkeys!); and the view from our hotel in Nauplion (that’s a castle on the hill!).
A few of my favorite things:
- Watching the sun set over Athens on top of Mt. Likavitos.
- Making friends with the owners of a wine store in Nauplion (and getting lots of samples!).
- Swimming in crystal clear water in Zakynthos.
- Gyros in the Monastiraki area of Athens.
I would love to go back one day and explore more of the islands — especially Santorini!

I almost dedicated this post to the boats of Malta. So colorful!
