Last Monday in NYC, I was invited to a fun summer blogger dinner at Hitha’s with Victoria, Clara, and Becca. You know it’s a blogger party when someone stands on the table — and not because it’s that kind of party, but because it’s the best place to get photos! One of the things I love about blogging is that you can put us bloggers in a room together, and you’d never know this was my first time meeting most of them in person. Bloggers really are the best kind of people!
So what do you do when it’s your first time in the city and you’re attending a potluck dinner? Bring wine, of course! If you’re super smart, you’ll ask a friend to point you in the right direction… and if that friend happens to be a culinary genius, you also ask her to help you pick out something (thanks Victoria!). And then, when everyone realizes there’s still not enough wine, you call for delivery (ummmm, why don’t I live there?).
The food was fantastic: watermelon and feta salad, ratatouille, and panzanella — light, and perfect for a summer evening. I fully plan to live off these dishes all summer long (recipe links below!).
And the view? Yeah, no words. We savored it until it threatened to rain again (it had already poured earlier in the day), then made our way back to Hitha’s for dessert and more chatting. Really the perfect summer evening!
