At the Moment is back — say hello to Cathy of Fiscally Chic! I mean, you have to love a blogger who can rock a tee that says “I’m bringing budgets back.” If that’s not enough, there’s always cupcakes, DIYs, and gorgeous pillows! Here’s a look at her life at the moment:
What are you crushing on?
STYLE // Love Kendi Everyday and her creative and accessible style. And while we’re at it, I’m totally crushing on this outfit. From the scarf to the stripes, I’d wear it all. Actually, I already have most of the pieces in my closet, so it’s only a matter of time before I wear it myself.
BEAUTY // I keep my nails au naturale for most of the year, so I can’t wait to break out the glitter nail polish for the holidays!
HOME // This dining room from the April/May 2010 issue of Lonny Magazine inspired our living room. I love everything about the sophisticated navy blue and crisp white. We painted our walls the exact shade of Benjamin Moore paint (Champion Cobalt, for those wondering) without a second thought. And let’s not forget the eclectic gallery wall and artfully mixed vignette.
What are you dreaming about?
DESTINATION // I’d love to bike through Tuscany with my husband and visit castles, wineries, and villages along the way.
CURRENT GOAL // One thing that will probably always be a work in process is my struggle with being a perfectionist. In 2009, I purchased the book The Pursuit of Perfect, but have yet to finish it. I’ve tried reading it twice and each time I catch myself feeling bad that I’m not the perfect optimalist, which is kind of twisted. If nothing else, I’d like to finish the book this year.
ON HER BUCKET LIST // Call me crazy, but I’d love to take a cross-country road trip on Route 66. I credit it to years of living in St. Louis and seeing Route 66 signs scattered throughout the city. Now that I live in Chicago, the official start of Route 66, it’s just asking me to take a drive!
What are you currently doing?
ON HER TO-DO LIST // Upholstering our coffee table. Nothing like sharing projects on the Internet to hold me accountable.
CURRENTLY READING // Can I cheat and say what I’m looking forward to reading? I’ve been reading (and cooking from) the Smitten Kitchen blog for years and my sister-in-law preordered a copy of The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook for my birthday in May. I’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival and it finally comes out this week!
BLOGGING ABOUT // My recipe for smoked porter chocolate cupcakes with chai buttercream and a DIY post about my IKEA Vittsjo entry table hack.
