You may remember Jadyn of Dutch.British.Love from this guest post she did for me when I went to Hawaii, but for those who haven’t met her yet, say hello! She posts amazing inspirations for the home, and I’ve enjoyed watching her transform her house into a home with her fun personal touches. Here’s a look at her life at the moment:
What are you crushing on?
STYLE // I haven’t brought out my shorts yet, but I can’t wait! I’d love to add some lace to a pair of cut-offs. So cute!
BEAUTY // I love Benefit make-up and my sister just got me this amazing kit of concealers. It comes in very handy at the moment, since my skin is acting up like it hasn’t since I was a teenager. Ack! Besides coming in handy, this kit also makes concealing fun!
HOME // I love stripes and wear them pretty often, but I really want to add some to our decor too. I have been crushing on this IKEA rug forever and I think I might actually bite the bullet and buy it.
What are you dreaming about?
DESTINATION // My sister and her family normally live in California but they relocated for 18 months to Washington DC for her hubby’s work. So visiting them is my number one dream destination right now, can’t wait to hang out with my sister, her hubby and my adorable 8-month-old nephew! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I’d love to explore Washington DC too and I’ve never been.
CURRENT GOAL // Opening my Etsy shop Oh Happy Dish with unique handknitted dishcloths. I’ve been knitting away can’t wait to get it up and running. I am also very excited about the banner Lisa designed for my shop!
ON HER BUCKET LIST // My Dad was born on Sumatra in Indonesia. I’d love to see it someday!
What are you currently doing?
ON HER TO-DO LIST // My hair is down to my lower back right now and I want to chop 10 inches off and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients. I’m hoping I’ll have enough hair left for a shoulder-length bob.
CURRENTLY READING // A novel about a father’s will in which he sets conditions that his four adult children have to live up to before they can inherit his fortune. He wants to teach them some life lessons that he wasn’t able to teach them during his lifetime. It’s a very intriguing story and it’s set in the South which so makes me want to visit there!
BLOGGING ABOUT // I recently participated in a blogging challenge where participants added a color of our choice to our home in several ways over the course of 5 weeks. I picked yellow and I really enjoyed doing the wrap-up post that showed the progression and the final result.

I’ve been reading Katie’s blog for almost as long as I’ve been blogging, and let me tell you, Unapologetically Mundane is appropriately named. Katie has a knack for turning the most everyday situations into hilarious stories (see also: her public transportation column, especially this one), plus, she takes pretty pictures. Here’s a look at her life at the moment:
What are you crushing on?
STYLE // Lana Del Rey in everything she wears, whether she’s playing the bad girl, channeling Valley of the Dolls, adding edge to femininity, or majorly vamping. I’d look so silly in her clothes, but she’s perfection in them. Oh, yeah, and she can actually sing, too.
BEAUTY // Megan’s hair on Feathers & Freckles! I usually don’t envy girls with curly hair since my own curls are a headache and a half, but Megan’s hair actually makes me appreciate mine.
HOME // Spraypainted tchotchkes. I think I should probably be embarrassed about this, but every time I see a porcelain thrift store owl sprayed neon pink or a seashell painted bright red, my heart flutters. I’m such a fan of pumpkins to begin with, and this monogrammed pumpkin DIY is so beautiful it makes me think I really could keep them around all year.
What are you dreaming about?
DESTINATION // Any place from this island-themed Let’s Fly Away! I love California beaches and make do with Hamptons beaches, but it’s white sand and clear water that I really want. I tell myself that shot of Antigua isn’t real just so I don’t jump off the side of my office building into the East River.
CURRENT GOAL // Doing something with Ettible Photography. I know goals are supposed to be specific and timed, but I’m too scared! What if no one likes my work? What if no one hires me? Am I really going to ask people to pay me? I know you have to fall before you fly and all that, but I’m going to take baby steps toward the edge for a while, I think.
ON HER BUCKET LIST // Ride in a hot air balloon. Living in the country as a kid, it was the biggest deal when my little sister and I saw gaggles of balloons flying overhead in the summer while we were busy dancing to “Kokomo” on our front porch.
What are you currently doing?
ON HER TO-DO LIST // Try the porchetta pizza sandwich at La Montanara, the new all-fried-pizza joint in Manhattan.
CURRENTLY READING // The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. It’s my dad’s favourite book, but I always just assumed it was boring, because all dad things are. But no! It’s very clever.
BLOGGING ABOUT // Maybe “Still More About the California Trip We Took Seven Months Ago“? Aside from actually having to own a car, Southern California is just perfect, and I was just learning to use my camera 4realz out there, so I think of these pictures and these moments so fondly.

STYLE // All of the new Madewell polka dot pieces! How adorable is this scarf?
BEAUTY // Supergoop! The Best lightweight sunscreen around… Living in Miami, I need constant protection from the sun.
HOME // I’m seriously coveting this rattan chair from Haus Interior. I love the 70s vibe of it, plus it’s named after my favorite Beatle, Ringo! How can you go wrong?
What are you dreaming about?
DESTINATION // With our wedding still just over a year away, I’ve been whiling away the days dreaming up the perfect honeymoon locale. I’d love to escape just the two of us to a secret tent high in the sky.
CURRENT GOAL // Well, I guess I’m just going to come out with it. I haven’t even announced this on my own blog yet (!!!) but I’m in the process of applying to go back to school in the Fall. The rest is top secret until I know more but check in with me soon for more deets!
ON HER BUCKET LIST // I’d love to go on safari and stay at Giraffe Manor just once (it’s a real thing, I promise)!
What are you currently doing?
ON HER TO-DO LIST // Lots of fun little wedding details (including making appointments at bridal salons)! And yes, our pup is totally walking down the aisle.
CURRENTLY READING // I recently finished Joan Didion’s Blue Nights and am now starting The Year of Magical Thinking. Both terribly sad works of non-fiction but Didion’s prose is perfection as always.
BLOGGING ABOUT // I’ve written about the Brooklyn Home Company twice now and I had such fun putting my own spin on re-creating one of their spaces in my last post!
