Caitlin of Sacramento Street posted this photo a few days ago, and I just can’t stop thinking about it! Besides the fact that her outfit is the perfect fall uniform, her hairstyle made me forget about growing out my hair.
After my brief fling with bangs last fall, and the total frustration of trying to grow them out this spring and summer, I thought I’d never want to cut my hair again. But it seems like every year, I get a sudden urge to chop it off. And that time has come, my friends — and much sooner in the growing-out process than it usually does.
But the thing is, at a certain length, I can go to bed with my hair wet and wake up with perfect curls 99% of the time. And I’m almost there. But I totally feel like embracing the messy right about now.
I blame this photo for clouding my judgement. Conveniently (or not, depending on how you look at it), I have a hair appointment scheduled next Saturday. So I’m leaving it up to you . . .
Cut or keep growing — what do you think?

Well, hello beautiful! Nice to see a photo of you! I must say I’m envious of your long curls, so I am inclined to say keep ‘em long. My hair is pin-straight and I’d love to have your hair! I can see how you’re tempted by the photo though. However, I cast my vote for long.
I look forward to hearing what you decide!
Thanks! I used to want straight hair, and sometimes I still think it would be easier. I love my hair, but it’s either really good, or really bad!
Her outfit is pitch-perfect; I love it! I just chopped my hair off to about her length and it styles itself perfectly without much help, though my hair is more wavy than curly. I really like your hair long though!
I like my hair long, but I always reach a point where I can’t take it anymore. I think this is more that I just love her hair though, and not that I can’t stand the length of mine.
After seeing this picture, I’m even more convinced that we have the same hair! I’m forever keeping mine short and foregoing convenience, so I’m probably biased.
I love that “fall uniform”, too. I recently bought a bunch of lightweight dresses for California and loved wearing them so much that I was thinking about just doing dresses and leggings all fall/winter long until some jerk on “Project Runway” said leggings are over this week!
That guy likes flamboyant costumes. I think leggings are still in and I am so going to sport them this fall/winter.
I don’t care what that guy said — I fully plan on living in leggings all fall and winter! He’s not one of my favorites anyways.
Leggings are so NOT over! That guy’s a stupidhead.
Says the girl who plans to wear them all winter long.
I think you would look great with either hair cut. I chop mine off when it starts going to pony tail every day (which it is now).
I love it now, but I think you should try something new. And if you don’t like it, well it grows back!
Also, I <3 that owl pillow behind you.
Mine’s been going in a ponytail every day because it’s so freaking hot!
whoa. cutest haircut ever! it is a hard call for curly hair (i have mad curls myself), and i am totally jealous you can go to bed with wet hair! my instinct would be to consider what your hair does at different lengths and whether you’d have to spend a lot of time blowing it out to get that super loose curl she has. the shorter i go, the tighter my curls spring up. if you think it’s manageable, i’d say go for! adorable pic of you btw!
I LOVE your current hair. It suits you!
