Rachel is a friend from college (and one of my grand-littles from my sorority!), and I’ve been reading her blog longer than I’ve actually been blogging. She has an amazing sense of style, and her stories of the difference between living in the South vs. New England are hilarious. Stop by Boston Not Common for more!
I love today’s fashion as much as the next girl (hello, Tory Burch Fall 2012 Fashion Week show!) but ever since I saw this image of Francoise Hardy, I’ve been captivated by the past. Doesn’t she look timeless and perfect and just completely badass? While I would never be caught dead on the back of a motorcycle and leather biker jackets aren’t really my thing, her whole attitude conveys a sort of je ne sais quoi I wish I had everyday. I went so far as to develop a Pinterest board for the people and images from the past I find simply stunning. Care to take a peek?
Fun fact: I also threw Pippa Middleton on my iconic board because her style is just as crush-worthy.
What are your favorite iconic images? If you could go back to any decade which would you choose? I think I would go to the 1920s!

1920s for sure! I already have the hair for it, and I love those drop-waisted dresses. Are you watching “Downton Abbey”? Swooooooooooooon.
Oh, man, almost any! I’d happily exist in the 20′s, 40′s, 50′s or 60′s. The 1970′s-era Jackie O. is one of my favorite style icons, though. So sharp, modern, classic and chic.
