I just started reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton for book club, so I had to find out a little more about one of the locations, a small port town in Queensland, Australia, called Maryborough. As it turns out, not only does it have some pretty fantastic architecture, but it also happens to be the birthplace of P.L. Travers, author of Mary Poppins! They have a statue of Mary Poppins in the town and celebrate a weeklong festival dedicated to her every year.
It’s been a crazy/busy/exciting couple of weeks preparing to leave my job, and I am so looking forward to the weekend! Celebration and relaxation are definitely in order, but I’m also looking forward to Monday and my first full day of self-employment. Happy weekend!

By “first full day of self-employment”, you mean “first full day of sleeping until 2 p.m.”, right? No? That’s just what I would do?
Mary Poppins! How awesome!
Here’s to an exciting new week/life for you!
What a cute town! And I had no idea that the writer of Mary Poppins was Australian! So excited for you to start your first week of self-employment! Have fun celebrating this weekend!
