I usually listen to Pandora all day at work, and occasionally a song will stand out in such a way that I just have to know what it is. When that kept happening with songs from A Fine Frenzy, I decided it was time to add some of her music to my collection. So you know when I found One Cell In The Sea on Amazon for the bargain price of $4.99, it was downloading to my computer 2 seconds later. (You know how I can’t resist my $5 albums.)
I have been listening to it non-stop ever since.
Alison Sudol has a dreamy kind of voice that can go from soft and sweet to powerful and emotional in just the right way. From the sweet and happy “You Picked Me” to the heartbreaking and haunting “Almost Lover,” Sudol hits all the highs and lows with perfect ease. Plus, she’s just adorable. I dare you to not girl-crush on her.

And from the sound of “Electric Twist,” I will clearly also need to download Bomb In A Birdcage.
How about you? Were you already a fan? What are your favorites?
P.S. Alison Sudol is also Rue Issue #3′s cover girl — with one of my favorite animals, the owl! Too perfect.
Disclosure: Both album links are through my Amazon Associates account, and I receive a small portion of sales through these links back in Amazon rewards.
