. . . you just need to curl up under a cozy quilt and call it a day.

Or, you could make homemade oatmeal, boil your milk over the pot in the process, and make a total mess of your kitchen. (At least the end result was delicious.) Best laid plans, huh?
Maybe tomorrow night.

Homemade oatmeal?
Recipe, please!
(I have never mastered the art of oatmeal.)
I just used steel cut oats and followed the directions. It’s 4 cups liquid to 1 cup oats, and the first time, I tried half milk and half water. Which boiled over and caused said mess. It was really good with 3 1/2 cups water and 1/2 cup milk though. I just made it plain so I could change up the toppings. Last night I added a spoonful of peanut butter and some brown sugar — super yummy!
I’ve also tried it in the crockpot overnight, and it worked ok, but I much prefer the stovetop version. The crockpot version was too runny for my taste, and a lot of it caked onto the side.
Homemade quilts are the best. I plan on making one some day. Someday.
I did, however, master the fine art of duvet cover making.
That’s awesome! I think I’m eventually destined to be a quilter, considering how much my grandma quilts. But for now, I just don’t have the space, so I stick with knitting.
Thats funny, this is what i want ed to do all day today, then here i a in the evening, can’t get off the darn computer lol
I can totally relate – sometimes it’s hard to just shut off the computer! Before you know it, it’s an hour past bedtime.
I love steel cut oats with brown sugar, cinnamon, and honey. I spare no sweeteners!
…and that quilt.
My favorite part of the weekend is keeping my eyes closed AFTER I am awake and enjoying the unhurried moment. The soft pillow cradling my neck, the warm blankets under my chin. ahhh
I’m stuck on peanut butter and brown sugar . . . which is kinda weird considering I’m not usually such a peanut butter fanatic. Must try new toppings!
I LOVE that part of the weekend. My bed is always the perfect amount of warm and snuggly right when I wake up in the morning.
